Plantiverse
Plantiverse is a thesis project that challenges individual’s perception on plants. Experiments have shown that a majority disregards the importance of plants in our biosphere. The inability to do so is referred as Plant Blindness. Plantiverse approaches this challenge by engaging users in a fun & lighthearted manner. The bamboo made device picks up plants’ frequency and outputs it into soothing melody. Music can be recorded and documented through our designed app and shared among the plant community. An interesting tool to get informed and bond with your plant friend!

Problem statement
Plant Blindness is a side effect caused throughout human evolution.
In the past, our ancestors required heavy focus to instant locate and track their prey in jungles, forests, and the prairies. This hunting process developed the ability to filter out the unessential in order to acquire precise information. By means our visions are prone to ignore the vast areas of green and only focus on the active moving objects.
We realized that many regard plants as mute and immobile objects. Plants are not given enough credits for their contribution. The lack of environmental awareness brings negative impact to our Mother Nature, and will eventually be harmful to human affairs.

Opportunity
The intention is not to promote any particular life choices such as the vegan lifestyle, the ongoing activism of zerowaste, or anti-consumerism. Instead, it is to encourage critical thinking and make subtle changes in daily life decisions. Subtlety greatly and easily helps people embrace new concepts.
We've explored three different approaches and iterations, made massive changes and finally settle down on our final design.
